1. Hands-on courses that combine tradition and ease

Our classroom offers two courses: a "regular class" where you make 2–4 kinds of seasonal wagashi, and a "trial class" where you make one type of nerikiri (two pieces). In particular, the "trial class" lets you easily enjoy wagashi making and a matcha experience in just an hour and a half, so you can join even between sightseeing. You can savor the sweets you made on the spot with matcha, and you may also take them home. Experience the joy of creating wagashi—imbued with Japan’s delicate aesthetic—with your own hands.

2. English-friendly classes for international tourists and exchange students

At "Wagashi Classroom sakura," we offer classes with explanations in English for international tourists and exchange students interested in traditional Japanese culture. You can learn the history, ingredients, and steps of making wagashi in English, allowing you to enjoy a Japanese cultural experience without language barriers. Through simple wagashi making and a matcha experience, it is a perfect opportunity to deepen your understanding of Japanese culture.

3. The "Yanesen" area where Tokyo’s history and culture come alive

"Yanesen"—an affectionate name formed from the initials of Yanaka, Nezu, and Sendagi—is a charming area where the scenery of old Tokyo remains. Narrow alleys are dotted with retro shops and cafes, as well as historic temples and shrines; simply strolling through lets you feel Japan’s nostalgic culture. It is also close to Ueno Park and the Tokyo National Museum, so you can fully enjoy Tokyo’s deeper charms along with the wagashi-making experience.
