It is also a gateway to breathtaking views of Japan’s capital. When night falls, TOKYO SKYTREE lights up in dazzling illumination, adding a magical palette to Tokyo’s night sky. Visit TOKYO SKYTREE and discover a modern, towering, and captivating vision of Tokyo!
3 Recommended Highlights
The Tembo Deck at TOKYO SKYTREE consists of three floors (340, 345, 350) spreading out about 350 meters above ground, offering 360-degree panoramic views of Tokyo. From the glass-enclosed space, on clear days you can see Mt. Fuji, Tokyo Tower, and the skyscrapers of Shinjuku, savoring vistas that stretch from the city center all the way to the bayside area.
Furthermore, at the "Tembo Galleria" spanning floors 445 to 450, you can walk along an inclined glass corridor and experience the thrill of what feels like an aerial stroll about 450 meters above ground. Its distinctive tube-shaped design heightens the sense of floating and excitement.
Combining the Tembo Deck and Tembo Galleria offers an overwhelming viewing experience that lets you enjoy Tokyo’s cityscape from every angle.
Lighting: TOKYO SKYTREE is also spectacular when viewed from the ground. It is illuminated in a variety of theme colors, such as the pale blue “粋,” the Edo-purple “雅,” and the orange “幟,” coloring the sparkling night sky.
粋(いき)
“粋,” expressing spirit, features a powerful look, light centered on the central pillar, and pale blue light inspired by the waters of the Sumida River.
雅(みやび)
“雅” conveys elegance, with garment-like light and a directional design; its theme color is Edo purple, and it features glitter like gold leaf and movement that expresses “time.”
幟(のぼり)
“幟” embodies energy, light with emphasized contrasts, and a vertical design; it is based on the auspicious tachibana color and features movement that evokes large flags raised on the three faces with vertical lines.
Event lighting and special collaborations
The biggest highlight of Tokyo Skytree is that, in addition to three standard lighting patterns, the illumination changes regularly to match special themes.
- Events:The tower is lit to match various occasions such as Christmas, New Year, and Valentine’s Day.
- Content collaborations::During collaborations held at the observation deck with popular anime and characters, the lighting adopts colors that symbolize the characters or logos of the works.
