A Showa-retro natural hot spring sento that gently warms the mind and body

Experience the ultimate 'totonoi' at an urban oasis
【天然温泉 湯どんぶり栄湯】

Located in Nihonzutsumi, Taito City, Tokyo, "天然温泉 湯どんぶり栄湯" preserves the charm of the Showa era while constantly evolving.

Although it is a long-established public bathhouse with over 70 years of history, its greatest feature is that soft natural hot spring water is used for everything—from the bathtubs to the showers and even the taps.

The hot spring, reputed to be gentle on the skin and to leave hair glossy, is deeply loved not only by local residents but also by sauna enthusiasts and tourists who travel from afar.

Within the atmosphere of a traditional bathhouse adorned with retro painted murals of Mt. Fuji, industry-first facilities and the latest saunas merge to create a truly one-of-a-kind space.

1. Signature 「どんぶり湯」 and a supreme 「ナノファインバブル」 experience

The symbol of 「湯どんぶり栄湯」, and its famed attraction, is the large cauldron bath 「どんぶり湯」 in the spacious open‑air bath. The water, which blends ultra‑fine 「ナノファインバブル」 into the natural hot spring, is astonishingly soft and warms you to the core. It gently removes impurities from your pores, and the moisturized feel of your skin after bathing is exceptional.

2. Enjoy 「オート熱波」 in the birthplace of sauna and a variety of saunas

This place is also known as a popular facility where you can enjoy 「オート熱波」, and its dedication to sauna equipment is outstanding. The men’s side is equipped with stoves from Finland’s long‑established manufacturer 「Helo」, and the women’s side with stoves from 「METOS Iki」. Furthermore, from December 2024, a full‑fledged trailer sauna equipped with a 「harvia」 stove using firewood from Akita’s broadleaf trees has been newly installed, and together with one of the deepest cold baths in Tokyo, it offers the supreme 「ととのい」.

3. 「美泡水風呂」 and carefully curated medicinal and carbonated baths

For cooling down after the sauna, the 「美泡水風呂」, whose delicate bubbles envelop your whole body, is recommended. In addition, the Kampo medicinal bath 「宝寿湯」, created from a careful selection of 2,500 kinds of crude drugs, and the 「超高濃度炭酸泉」 using Maifan stone each reflect the owner’s dedication. You can enjoy such a variety of baths and sauna experiences that one visit is not enough. With the wide range of baths and saunas, you will want to come back again and again.
