Just a short walk from Tokyo’s Kichijoji Station is a small village filled with charming buildings that look as if they’ve leapt straight out of a picture book—that is “Kichijoji Petit Village.” With the concept of “Open the door and it’s a picture-book world,” it warmly welcomes visitors. Within the village, you’ll find unique and popular shops, including the cat café “Cat Cafe てまりのおしろ,” where you can interact with many cats; “TEA HOUSE はっぱ,” where you can enjoy carefully selected black teas and herbal teas; and “ギャラリー貸し小屋,” which hosts limited-time pop-up shops. You can spend a special time feeling as if you’ve become a character in a fairy tale.

1. A charming, storybook-like streetscape

Step inside and you’ll find a colorful, charming world that evokes a small European village. Each building features a thoughtfully crafted design, offering photogenic scenery wherever you look. The open courtyard space also soothes the hearts of visitors.

2.  Unique shops and teatime

The entire village feels like a theme park. Dotted around are attractive spots such as “Cat Cafe てまりのおしろ,” where you can interact with cats; “TEA HOUSE はっぱ” and “TEA STAND はっぱ,” offering carefully selected herbal teas and light meals; and “ギャラリー貸し小屋,” which hosts limited-time shops. Currently operating tenant shops also include “ふたねこ,” “リッカモッカ,” and “Kichijoji みちの駅.” Each visit brings new favorites to discover, or a chance to take a peaceful break in a warm, wood-accented space.
