At the first-floor shop of Ozu Washi, there is a focus on Japan’s hand-crafted washi, with a wide variety gathered from production areas nationwide. In addition to paper for calligraphy, Japanese painting, and crafts, there is a rich selection of washi accessories such as letter paper, envelopes, postcards, and fans, making it ideal for souvenirs. 2. Experience the spirit of “Wa” at the hand-papermaking washi workshop
At the hand-papermaking washi experience workshop on the same first floor, you can experience traditional Japanese papermaking. In about 45 minutes, you can create your own original A4-size washi and take it home the same day. From basic plain washi to techniques like rakusui paper, watermark washi, and design washi, you can try various methods. Through delicate work, feel the warmth and depth of washi firsthand.

On the second floor, 小津ギャラリー hosts various exhibitions using washi—such as calligraphy, painting, and ちぎり絵—where you can discover new charms of washi through artworks.
