Focusing on the universal psychology that “children want to press buttons,” Shimada Electric Manufacturing, which has been making elevator buttons and more for over 90 years, created OSEBA—the world’s first play space themed around “pushing.” Located in Hachioji, Tokyo, it is accessible from Keio-Hachioji Station and JR Hachioji Station. Here, an out-of-the-ordinary experience awaits that satisfies everyone’s desire to “press buttons.” With the keyword “Press a button and something begins,” the space is packed with content that people of all ages, across borders, can simply enjoy. OSEBA’s signature attraction is the much-talked-about “1000のボタン.” Here, you can go all out and press as many as 1,048 buttons. Experience a unique sense of liberation and excitement that simply satisfies the deep-seated human urge to press things—only available here.

2. A unique experience of "learning" and "play"
Inside the facility, you’ll find “learning” content such as “島田100年ヒストリー” and “クラフトマンウォール,” which introduce the history of elevators and manufacturing, as well as “play” content like the 30-second quick-press challenge “333 ハートビートボタン” and a digital art space. At Shimada Electric Manufacturing Company, as part of our fan-building activities, we hold the “Factory Sneak Peek Tour,” where you can observe the manufacturing process of elevator buttons and other items that are not usually seen. It was once called “Japan’s most difficult factory tour to book,” but we have strengthened our reception system and can now accommodate more visitors. Because you observe a real working site, what you see varies depending on the day you visit and the work being done. In addition, as long as they are not close-up photos of in-factory notices or products, photography and posting on social media are permitted, allowing you to share this valuable experience.
