Weave your “wish” into a one-of-a-kind amulet. Step away from Asakusa’s bustle for a soothing moment of mindfully spinning thread

A hands-on studio where you can handcraft your very own "amulet" with a traditional loom
【手織り体験 おりなみ 浅草公園前店】

Located in Taitō, Tokyo, right next to Sensō-ji, this calm space where you can feel Japanese elegance is "手織り体験 おりなみ 浅草公園前店".

Here, you can make an amulet pouch on an authentic loom using 24 colors of thread that have been blessed at "天竹神社", which enshrines Japan’s only deity of cotton. The concept is to give shape to “wishes” for your loved ones and for yourself.

Even beginners and children from age 3 can, with careful support from the staff, complete a remarkably high-quality piece in about one hour. Between sightseeing in Asakusa, we offer a special experience where you can engage with Japan’s traditional culture and peacefully create a treasure that is uniquely yours.

1. Choose your own design from 24 colors of “blessed” threads

The first step is to pick five favorite threads from 24 colors. All of these threads have been blessed at 天竹神社, and the amulet’s look varies completely depending on the colors you choose. You can also freely customize the amulet cord (12 colors) and patches (14+ types). With endless combinations, you’ll create a truly “one-of-a-kind” original piece.

2. Great for beginners and kids! One-on-one guidance from staff

Worried that “looms seem difficult…”? No need. A staff member will be right by your side, gently teaching you how to find the rhythm and thread the yarn. The experience lasts about one hour; though short, the focused weaving time offers an immersive break from everyday life. Available from age 3, perfect for family trips and making memories with friends. We can also accommodate groups of up to 14.

3. A special step to infuse your “wish,” plus great photo spots

Beyond weaving, you’ll also write a “wish card” to place inside. By sealing in your thoughts, its meaning as an amulet deepens. The finishing “二重叶結び” is auspicious, and after completion you can take commemorative photos at the in-store photo spot. You can take any leftover threads home and relive the memories of your trip there.
