A pitch-black natural hot spring long loved in Kamata

A soothing Tokyo spot steeped in classic sento culture and the blessings of black water
【Kamata Onsen Ota Ward’s black-water sento】

Kamata Onsen is a jet-black natural hot spring that has been loved in Tokyo’s Kamata since the early Showa era.

Beyond its iconic bright-red arch stretches a place where everyone—from children to the elderly—can feel at ease.

Its black water, among the most concentrated in the Kamata area, is a sodium bicarbonate and chloride cold mineral spring, effective for neuralgia, muscle pain, and recovery from fatigue.

In addition to the baths, a dining hall offering carefully prepared homemade dishes and unique original goods is one of its attractions.
