A natural hot spring brimming with old-town warmth, overlooking the Tokyo Skytree

A heartwarming Tokyo spot where Japan's sento culture and the modern day blend
【押上温泉 大黒湯】

Located in Sumida City, Tokyo, just a 10-minute walk from Tokyo Skytree and 6 minutes from Oshiage Station, 「Oshiage Onsen Daikokuyu」 has continued to be loved as a downtown oasis since its founding in 1949. Aiming to be 'a sento that blends the traditional and the modern, making you feel as if you've come back to a somehow nostalgic home', it provides a relaxing time not only for local residents but also for many visitors from Japan and abroad. It is the first in the 23 wards to operate all night until 10 a.m. the following morning, allowing you to enjoy natural hot springs late at night or early in the morning—a major feature. While soaking in the mildly alkaline natural hot spring that wells up from underground, you can simultaneously gaze at the painted mural of Mt. Fuji on the bathhouse wall and the Tokyo Skytree towering outside the window—a truly captivating spot where old and new Tokyo intersect.

1. Breathtaking open-air bath and wood deck! Have Tokyo Skytree all to yourself

We pride ourselves on a spacious large open-air bath, a rarity among public baths in Tokyo. Soaking in the water while gazing at the Tokyo Skytree towering before your eyes is the height of luxury. The atmosphere changes between day and night, and you can enjoy seasonal scenery throughout the year. In addition, on the second floor, both the men's and women's areas have their own wood deck, where you can enjoy outdoor cooling after bathing in hammocks or reclining chairs and savor blissful moments with Tokyo Skytree seemingly all to yourself.

2. A variety of baths and saunas devoted to health and beauty

In addition to its natural hot spring, Daikokuyu offers a wide range of baths focused on health and beauty.
High-concentration artificial carbonated spring: Water infused with over 1,000 ppm of carbon dioxide gas—recognized for medical use—expected to promote blood circulation.
Onsen hot water: A slightly alkaline natural hot spring, set to 42°C for both men and women.
Medicated bath: Changes daily; popular baths using fresh herbs and seasonal fruits and vegetables.
Attraction baths: Body-massage jets for a full-body massage, the Super Jet reputed to help with lower back pain, sit-down baths, and more.
In addition, a mugwort steam salt sauna and a far-infrared sauna are available to support beauty and health.

Large open-air bath, high-concentration artificial carbonated spring, and steam salt sauna alternate daily between men and women.

3. Convenience for travelers: "come empty-handed" and "all night"

Daikokuyu provides shampoo and body soap, and also offers rental towels (large and small set for 130 yen) and sells lotion, razors, and more, so you can drop by empty-handed. Another major feature is that it is one of the few places in Tokyo open all night (until 10:00 the next morning). You can enjoy authentic hot springs late at night or early in the morning to suit your lifestyle, making it very convenient when you are out late for sightseeing or work. In the lobby, milk, fruit milk, and beer are available for the perfect post-bath drink.
