A specialty spot for the new-texture pizza "Pinsa Romana" and house-made desserts
“Café Michelangelo”
Set along Daikanyama’s Kyū-Yamate Street, “Café Michelangelo” is distinguished by its lush open terrace. Watched over by a 300-year-old zelkova, the space unfolds like a European street corner—an escape from the everyday. Since its opening in 1997, this beloved café was renewed in September 2023. In a space where tradition meets novelty, we offer an even more captivating time.
Our pride is the Italy-born, new-texture pizza “Pinsa Romana.” The dough, blended with soy flour and rice flour, is crisp on the outside and delightfully chewy inside. Healthy yet satisfying, its taste is unforgettable after just one bite. Our pâtissiers also craft each house-made dessert with care—must-tries all around. In particular, the “Michelangelo Pudding,” where rich custard meets pleasantly bitter caramel, is a popular item available for takeout.
From lunch and café time to dinner, enjoy authentic Italian cuisine casually throughout the day. For conversations with someone special, or a little luxury on your own. Feel the pleasant Daikanyama breeze and spend a special time that lets you forget the everyday.
“Pinsa Romana,” a hot topic in Italy, is our signature item. The dough blends soy and rice flour into wheat flour and is fermented for a long time, yielding a crust that’s crisp and fragrant on the outside and astonishingly chewy inside. With a lighter bite than conventional pizza, it’s also great for the health‑conscious. We offer two styles: “Rossa,” with a tomato‑sauce base, and herb‑scented “Bianca.” Excellent with wine.
Among our house‑made dolci crafted by our pâtissier, the “Michelangelo Pudding” is especially popular. A classic‑style pudding featuring a luxuriously vanilla‑bean‑rich custard and the exquisite contrast of pleasantly bitter caramel sauce. Its firm texture is satisfying—one bite and you’ll be hooked. Takeout is available, perfect as a gift.
The spacious terrace facing Kyū‑Yamate‑dori feels like a European café, open and airy. Surrounded by greenery and a pleasant breeze, enjoy a graceful moment. Pets are welcome, so we recommend dropping by during a walk with your dog. Savor our signature dishes and drinks while taking in the seasonal scenery.
From lunch to dinner, the appeal is being able to casually enjoy authentic Italian à la carte. Perfect for lunch with friends and afternoon café time, and of course ideal for special‑occasion dinners like anniversaries and birthdays. We also accommodate private bookings—feel free to consult us for parties and events. A slightly special space, like an extension of everyday life, awaits you.
