A hands-on spot where you can easily learn Japanese traditional culture (wagashi making & tea ceremony)
【日本文化体験 庵an東京】
In the heart of Tokyo, just a 1-minute walk from Kanda Station (East Exit), 「日本文化体験 庵an東京」 is a spot where everyone—from international visitors to locals—can easily experience Japanese culture.
With the motto “Fun + Learning,” instructors clearly explain wagashi knowledge and the charm of matcha, incorporating quizzes.
Reservations and payments can be completed online, so you can drop by empty-handed. The theme changes every month to match the seasons (the 24 solar terms), so you’ll find something new no matter how many times you visit.
3 Recommended Points
1. Nerikiri wagashi making experience using authentic ingredients
You can experience making “nerikiri,” a quintessential wagashi. We use authentic ingredients: white bean paste made from white kidney beans by a long-established anko shop in Kyoto, and smooth red bean paste made from domestically grown azuki beans, so you can enjoy genuine flavors. You will make two types (two pieces in total): a flower-shaped nerikiri and a seasonal kinton-style nerikiri, and enjoy them on the spot.
2. “Otemae” experience: whisk your own matcha
The experience menu offers many plans that include a “hiki-cha” demonstration of grinding tea leaves into matcha with a stone mill, as well as an “otemae” experience where you whisk matcha yourself. We use special single-origin matcha, which pairs perfectly with the wagashi you make.
3. Well-equipped facilities and comprehensive plans
In our spacious facility with a maximum capacity of 46 people (when using two venues), tables and chair seating are fully provided. Solo participants, groups, and couples are all welcome. From a 30-minute otemae experience to a long course of about 125 minutes where you can try a three-item set of nerikiri, dry sweets, and otemae, you are free to choose a plan that suits your time and budget.

Check RouteOta Ward Gourmet2026.09.26(土)On Saturday, September 26, 2026, at Ota City Industrial Plaza PiO, we will host a large networking event exclusively for people in their 20s and 30s, 「蒲田BIG恋活フェス」! Beyond matching apps, we want to create a place to meet where people can actually see each other face to face and talk naturally while sharing the same time and space. With that in mind, this is a community-based dating event planned to be held in Kamata. “In everyday life, there are few opportunities to meet new people” “It’s hard to grasp someone’s vibe through a matching app” “Formal marriage-hunting parties make me a bit nervous” We aim to offer a casual networking event that helps people in their 20s and 30s take the first step with ease. The venue is about a 3-minute walk from Keikyu Kamata Station. It’s a standing, free-mingling style event for up to 250 people, where you can socialize while enjoying light snacks and all-you-can-drink. It’s not a format where you talk to assigned partners in turn. You can move freely around the venue and enjoy conversations at your own pace with anyone who interests you. First-timers and solo attendees are very welcome! You can also join with friends. Of course, those looking for a partner are welcome, and so are those who “just want to talk to new people first.” Please feel free to join us.
